Since the inception of the organization in 1982, over 10,000 people have benefitted from all aspect of ACDF work and well over 100,000 have come into contact with the work of the organization. Amongst some of the varied and innovative successful projects developed and run by ACDF are Youth International Cultural and Educational Exchange Programmes.
Each year from 1984 to 2018 ACDF have taken a group of young people on exchange programmes to national and international destinations. It is by far one of the few black- led organisations in the UK that have young people who today can boast as a result of their participation in ACDF exchanges, have established long term friendship in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. ACDF was formerly a full time training provider for national and international students accredited by City & Guilds and the UK Department of Education.
For the past 35 years ACDF have organised and managed international youth exchange programmes to Africa, Caribbean and Europe and has forged meaningful and equal partnerships with young people and a network of organizations local, national and international.
ACDF believe that young people have natural inbuilt gifts of art that needs to be nurtured and harness in a positive, productive environment. Such was the success of the Getfamilyar project. The project is presently providing workshop-based training programme in schools.
ACDF have responded by providing intergenerational advice, support, mentoring and life skills coaching. We have rolled out programmes with specialist advice on matters pertaining to business development, artistic and youth creativity
Africa Caribbean Development Foundation (ACDF) is a charitable organization, promoting charitable activities.
Our Getfamilyar project contributes significantly to building bridges amongst the youth.
Throughout the years ACDF remains steadfast in its approach, seeing at all times that the key to self-development is one’s ability to recognize his or her own individual talent.
